Translating Invoices and Reports

In this version of Inventory Tracker Plus it is possible to translate
the Invoices and Reports into any language.

Here are tips and instructions for editing the translation table
which is found in the Preferences section of the software.

When the Translate button is clicked in an Invoice or Report window,
all words found in the English column of the translation table will
be replaced with the word or phrase in the Translation column of the
translation table.

If the English column of the table is empty you should start by
clicking the Import button and locate the ITP_translation.txt file
supplied with the software. If you do not find such a file, or need a
specific language translation, or have a translation file that will be
useful for others, please email support@productivity-software.com.

The ITP_translation.txt file can be edited in Preferences or in a
word processor or spreadsheet program. If you use a word processor,
make sure there is a tab between each English word and its
translation. The file must remain in .txt (ASCII) format. Avoid any
blank lines. Generally, capitalization of the translation should
match the English word or phrase.

It is best to keep the translated word or phrase approximately the
same length as the English word or phrase. Table columns may have to
be adjusted after the translation to accomodate differences in word
or phrase lengths.

To create another word to translate on the Translations Preferences
screen, click the New button.

You can Export any list of words and phrases as a ITP_translation.txt
file (changing its name if appropriate and noting its location) by
clicking the Export button on the Translations Preferences screen.
You can then click the Import button to load another list if you want
to switch languages.

You can sort either the English column or the Translation column on
the Translations Preferences screen by clicking the column header
button. There must not be any exact duplicates of English words or
phrases (you can have duplicate translations if you wish). Sorting
the English column is a good way to check for duplications.

Click the Save button to save your new translations.
